This is my 3rd knife with butcher block purchase from Amazon. (The past sets were different brands.) I was not expecting much based on my past experiences. I am thoroughly happy with this set. They look great on my counter and are SHARP! I was expecting to have to sharpen them as I have had to do with all other brands I have purchased in the past. What a wonderful surprise to not have to do that! This set is perfect for me.
UPDATE:
Okay. I have owned this unit now for over a year and I have "one" knife left. I dropped each knife (at different times accidently on our ceramic floors, and the knife just broke in half. Oops, to say the least. I now just own the block, with one knife left. I am trying my best not to drop the last one.

Maybe all knifes break when dropped. I don't know. I am still learning to "set" glasses down on Granite! See my reviews on my cups!!!
